What is a Monster Kid? Back in the magical days of the 1960s it seemed that monsters were everywhere. Thanks to the release of the Universal Horror classics to TV in the late '50s and the creepy and kooky local horror hosts who presented them, movie monsters like FRANKENSTEIN, THE WOLF MAN, THE MUMMY and DRACULA were more popular than ever. Actors like Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi and Lon Chaney, Jr. were winning a new generation of fans. FAMOUS MONSTERS OF FILMLAND and other magazines provided cool monsters photos and information along with laughs. Monster TV Shows, model kits, toys, trading cards and other items fanned the flames of the '60s monster craze. If you grew up in those times, or were lucky enough to discover the joys of monsterdom through childhood exposure to classic monster movies, then you are a MONSTER KID!
